A second Hull City player has been involved in a car accident near the club's training ground in Cottingham, with the club confirming no one was injured. The incident, which saw a vehicle roll onto its side on Millhouse Woods Lane, occurred just weeks after a comparable crash involving winger Sorba Thomas.
Humberside Police said officers were called to a single-vehicle collision on the lane at around 8.30am on Thursday, 1 October 2026. "Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of the collision," a police statement read.
Hull City issued a brief response to images of the crash circulating online. "Hull City is aware of images circulating on social media following a road traffic accident near the club's training ground and can confirm that no one was harmed in the incident," the club said.
That summer signing Lucas Gourna-Douath was the driver. The French midfielder, like Thomas before him, walked away unharmed. Thomas was involved in a rollover accident in his Land Rover Defender on the same narrow road on 11 September.
Local councillor Phil Redshaw said he had recently written to the club asking them to remind players and staff to drive with extra care on Millhouse Woods Lane due to resident concerns. He noted there had been "a few near misses" recently on the street, which provides access to the training complex.
Both Thomas and Gourna-Douath joined Hull following the club's promotion to the Premier League and have contributed to a strong start. Sergej Jakirović's side currently sits eighth in the table with eight points from five games.
The Tigers' last outing was a 2-1 defeat away to Newcastle United before the international break. They return to action at the MKM Stadium on 11 October, hosting Everton in a match that pits eighth against seventh. Check the upcoming fixtures for full details.
